My name is Amy...

My blog used to be named just1morecoachbag...since most of what I was posting lately was my cardmaking, I decided to change it.

But, this post is about Coach bags! I went to the Coach store today and picked myself up a new Carly bag in Black and Silver. It is just so cute! I also got the Addison sunglasses in Tortoise...to die for!

My name is Amy and I'm a Coach ADDICT!

Still figuring out this Blog thing...

Please forgive me, I am still trying to figure out how having a blog works. I have been experimenting with moving things around, enlarging the fonts, etc.

I would like to put a slide show of pictures of my projects, but I haven't quite figured out how.

So feel free to leave me comments on how to improve!

Does anyone know how I can make the template stretch side to side? There is so much negative space.

Someone wants to buy my cards!

Oh My, I can't believe it...but someone actually wants to buy my cards! I am so flattered.

I had been thinking about putting together a few sets and seeing if they might sell on Ebay so this is so great. I have an idea of what I will charge per card, but it seems weird to charge people for doing something I love!

Have you ever sold any of your work? What did you sell and what did you charge?

I got a little lost...

Well I got a little lost and completely neglected my blog. But, I have decided it is good therapy and I need to start again.

And today of all days is Mother's Day. It should be MY day to just do whatever I want and not have to do a THING for anyone else.

Well my day started out by making breakfast for the family. Of course, I was hoping someone would at least step up and do the dishes...I must have still been dreaming.

I made my hubby go get lunch and dinner. I was little bitter over the whole breakfast thing.

My sweet son did wake me up and give me his handmade card. It was cute and special and completely done with love.

I haven't even taken a shower today. I decided to just stay in my PJs and watch tv, nap and chat on the computer.

The day could only have gotten better if a big brown box with a new Coach bag had been waiting for me this morning...

well my blog is called just 1 more Coach bag...

so I bought another one this weekend! Who could pass up 40% off at Nordstrom!!! Ok, maybe I should have passed it up. I'm a Coach junkie. It's really bad. But, I have actually given a couple to my mom.

The worst part is, I need more closet space....actually just better organized space so I will actually use them all. I tend to just use the same one for days because switching purses is such a hassle. I always leave something in the other purse-change, lip balm, sunglasses, brush, etc-and it is always that one thing I really need.

But, some of that is my fault. If I was better organized I would also pick out what I was going to wear the next day the night before and get my purse switched over before I'm trying to run out the door in the morning.

This would be the case today...I'm wearing black and gray...have an awesome Coach Legacy bag in Clay (medium gray color) and I was running late so I am carrying a light tan Legacy bag which I used yesterday (it didn't match yesterday either!).

And to top it off my pants are a little snug and my sweater is just that much too short to cover the bottom of my rear end so the tightness of the pants is visible to all.

Lovely...just lovely! (But, my purse sure is cute!)

Officially 35...

I just realized that I have been so busy that I haven't posted a new blog for a few days now.

Well, I am officially 35 now (the crowsfeet are forming as I type!). It was a rather uneventful day. I had an appointment to get my hair done (been hiding the gray for years now). I never really know what to do with my hair. Sometimes I just say "the same" and others I get a little thought in my head and say "can we do this?". The same guy has been doing my hair since I was 20. So he knows what I like and what I don't and he won't do things he doesn't feel are the best thing. I've been just about every color under the sun, except all over blonde. He says my hair is just too healthy and the bleaching would destroy it. I'm also have a pretty fair complexion and he doesn't think it would look good on me. I have gone thru several stages of want it long and want it short (just below the shoulders is short to me). Currently it is just above my waist. This is how is has been for more years than not.

Like most everyone in my age range, I had the Dorothy Hamil at one point (the Jennifer Aniston do of its time). Oh my god, who ever thought that was attractive?!?! My hair was so long when I did it, my mom actually has the pony tail they cut off to give me that awful haircut. And it was awful...it was so uneven, I had to go somewhere else and have it cut again. Only to fix it I ended up with what I would call a mullet! I have tried to find and burn all pictures where this hair cut might be seen, but I'm sure my mom has a few stashed away.

In the last few years I have been introduced to the flat iron. If I ever have to leave my house on short notice knowing I may never see any of my possessions again, I would NOT, under any circumstance, leave without my flat iron! I am in love with this device. I have that kind of hair that isn't straight, but isn't wavy or curly...it's just annoyingly bumpy. It also refuses to hold curl for any amount of time. But, it sure does obey the flat iron!

For once in my life I rarely have a bad hair day. I wish I could say the same for a lot of things in life....

Clutter

Where does all the stuff come from???

I have a room in my house that used to serve as a sort of guest room, but we rarely have guests so I thought what is the point? Well, there are those occasional times I ban hubby from our room to teach him a lesson, but that isn't too often (good for us!). So I turned it into a craft room/workout (aren't treadmills great places to dry sweaters!) room. I did buy a small sofa that has a twin size pull out bed just in case we have that rare guest.

What I can't figure out is where all the extra crap comes from. I look around and I know it is all stuff I bought so it no one's fault but my own. I either have to stop shopping (ok, the name of my blog is "Just 1 More Coach Bag" do you really think I'm going to stop shopping???) or get organized....somehow.

I've decided the closet is a great storage area, but the current closet organizer is just crap. It was here when we moved in and I'm not sure it was even meant to be a closet organizer. All the pieces are cut to fit, but not in a custom way...in more of a let's just use this and see what happens way.

Removing the current organizer and installing a new one is a task I've decide I can do myself. My plan is to have it done before Thanksgiving. By the time I'm done, I plan to have one side for craft storage and the other for all my purses (surprise, huh?) and some office filing and supplies.

Wish me luck!

The mind of a 7 year old...

So far today began with a typical morning. We ran around the house rushing to get ready and no doubt forgetting to do a few things along the way. It is usually just Jake and I so you would think it would be a fairly simple process. I generally trust him to put on all the clothes I lay out for him and to get his snacks together for the day. There have been issues in the past with him leaving on his pajamas and just putting on his clothes over top of them. In fact, if you look closely at his pre-school photo when he was 4 you will see 2 t-shirt collars. This was because he left on the shirt he slept in and just kept getting dressed. One day when I picked him up he told me he was really hot all day. I asked him why only to have him pull up his pant leg and show me his flannel pajama bottoms!

This morning in the car on our 10 mile drive to school (he goes to a private school half way between our home and my work), he informs that he wants to be a worker for a boss. I say ok, why is that? He says, well I like to travel alot and a worker gets to buy his own lunch. (HMMMM....ok, this is how the 7 year old mind works, huh?) So I go on to ask why don't you want to be the boss? He says, well all they do is have to talk to people all day saying hi, hi, hi, how are you, ok you can start tomorrow(I am doing everything I can to not laugh out loud at this point so he doesn't think I don't take him seriously). I said so you want to be like daddy because he has a boss and he doesn't really have to talk to people all day. He says oh yeah, I just want to be a 1 man dump truck company.(His dream at this point is to drive the coolest dump truck ever made).

I asked him where he learned about these kinds of things and of course he says, TV!

I'm going to be how old???

So it's just 3 days until my 35th birthday...35!!!!...my god where did the time go!?!? This momentous occasion is one (I'll get to the other in a bit) of the reasons I decided to start something new...my own blog. My own little space to publicly declare if my day was worth getting up for in the morning or if I should have just pulled the covers up over my head and pretended I had gone deaf overnight.

Everyday is worth getting up for when you have the best 3 kids in the world! A little backgroundmight be helpful here. 1 is human, a boy, Jake, whose 7 and the other 2 are from the furry species-1 labrador, Maggie, who produces more fur on a daily basis than should ever be possible and 1 orange tabby, Kitman, the dirty, flea infested baseball sized kitten we found in the posh bushes of Barnes & Noble one Sunday morning. Definitely a lot to blog about daily among these 3.

So now on to my second reason for starting this blog. I came across a post on a message board (for scrapbookers...pretty wild, huh?) with a link to an Ebay auction from a couple of months ago. It was titled "Lot of Pokemon Cars My Kids Tried To Sneak By Me". http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130144061675#description

The description written for this auction itemwas the funniest thing I have ever read. I sat in front of my computer laughing so loud I'm sure neighbors heard me, with tears rolling down my face. The seller is a mom to 6 kids...that might make you laugh in itself, but you have to keep reading the description. I only have one child, but everything she described I have either gone thru in some capacity or watched happen to other moms. She received so many comments she went on to post her blog address and also appeared on ABC World News!
http://mom2my6pack.blogspot.com

So here I am. I'm definitely not as funny as she is, but I figured maybe I'd give it a try. I also wanted to challenge myself to commit to a daily task. I know, I have a kid to get to school and pick up everyday, a dog & cat to feed, a husband to cook for, a job to go to (only 4 days a week, but at least I make my own money!) so I have many things I have to do daily, but this is different. This is something for me and about me. ME isn't something I always give enough time to.

Now I just need to find some readers other than me! :-)
